Manchester United have received a huge injury boost before their crunch clash against Liverpool as Jose Mourinnho is confident of having Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo for the game on Sunday.
With Eric Bailley plying his trade for Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations, Mourinho has been short on defensive options and his worry only escalated after Rojo was forced off in the 4-0 FA Cup win over Reading last weekend with a muscle injury. The Red Devils feared another setback when their top goalscorer Ibrahimovic could not make it to the squad for the 2-0 EFL Cup win over Hull on Tuesday due to illness illness. However, Mourinho is confident of having them for the Liverpool game.

Speaking to MUTV, the Portuguese tactician said: “I think they are available [against Liverpool]. I cannot confirm with 48 hours to the match but I think so.”

Meanwhile, Mourinho has urged the United fans to rally behind the players as his team would be hoping to cut the gap to the second-placed side to two points. The Red Devils have won their last six games in the Premier League and will start as the favourites against Jurgen Klopp’s side which is yet to win in 2017 despite playing against Sunderland, Plymouth and Southampton.
Mourinho said:“Now is just a question of having a little bit extra in a match which for them means a little bit more.”
“They have to make us feel that feeling we felt that at Anfield – we felt clearly for the Liverpool fans it was more than a match. Now we play at home we have a huge percentage of our fans compared with Liverpool fans. It’s for them that the match means something more.”
“Three points plus the emotional side of it. The emotional side of it the fans and the players that are in the club for a long time. I think they understand the feeling better than I do,” he added.
