New India skipper Virat Kohli has been a run-chasing machine for India from the past few years. Sunday was just another occasion when he once again led the foundation for a chase and helped India take 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Along with Kedar Jadhav, he shared a 200-run partnership for the fifth wicket before Hardik Pandya’s matured innings of 40 sealed the deal for the Men in Blue.
Though, the partnership between Kohli and Jadhav was a treat for the fans but there was a shot from Kohli, which stole the limelight and maybe it’s too early to say but it can be termed as the ‘Shot of the Year’.
It was a short delivery from Chris Woakes. Kohli, who had just completed his century, got into position early and timed it immaculately in the gap between deep mid-wicket and deep long-on for a six. It was such an effortless use of wrists that it looked like a super-human shot.
Fair to say, it was something simply magical!
