The Indian opening batsman, Gautam Gambhir, who is known to speak his mind has jumped in the favour of Zaira Wasim, who was trolled on social media after she met Mehbooba Mufti, the chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir.
Following the meet, the young actress, who portrayed the role of Geeta Phogat in the movie Dangal wrote a post on social media apologising for meeting the CM. She was later trolled on social media after her post became viral.
Many prominent personalities including Amir Khan, Anupam Kher and Omar Abdullah, the former CM of J&K came in support of Zaira and now Gautam Gambhir also tweeted in favour of the young girl as he wrote –
Calling @zairawasim “unislamic” for acting in Dangal or meeting @MehboobaMufti is naked suppression. Ashamed dat she had 2 apologise.

Men will be men. Insecure 2 see a girl like @zairawasim get wings. Sadly we think “Maahri Choriyan AAJ B Choron se kum hain.” @aamir_khan

Geeta Phogat also came in support of Zaira as she wrote –

However, there is still a confusion that why and for what Zaira apologised on Facebook.
