Liverpool Team News and Predicted Lineup to Face Plymouth Argyle In The FA Cup 1

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were held to a frustrating draw at the Old Trafford in the Premier League, earlier this week but the manager cannot dwell on the game for too long as he should now take his side away to Plymouth in the third round of the FA Cup for a replay after managing to end the first game at 0-0 at Anfield.

The Reds are expected to take this game by the scruff of the neck, but if Plymouth are able to hold on to the score for most of the game, the Reds may yet be in a for a tough game this week.

Playing away from home at a new stadium will not be easy for the Anfield outfit but Klopp is adamant that he will use young and budding stars in hope that they can get his side over the line. With not too long left for the game, here is the team news and the predicted lineup for this game for the Reds:

Team News:

The Reds are still without the services of striker Danny Ings who remains injured. Lucas Leiva is back in training and may be risked for this game but Nathaniel Clyne, who missed the last game through a niggle is definitely sitting out. Joel Matip, the Cameroon defender, is stuck in the limbo with his issue with his national side and Klopp is not expected to risk losing points by playing him in this game.

Expected lineup (4-3-3):

Loris Karius:

The first choice for Liverpool in cup games, Karius, should keep his place in the side for this game against Plymouth.

Trent Alexander Arnold:

After a memorable outing at Old Trafford on his debut, Trent AA, should deputise at right back yet again in the absence of Clyne.

Joe Gomez:

Having put in a decent performance in the last game against Plymouth, Gomez, is expected to start this game for Liverpool.

Lucas Leiva:

The Brazilian missed the game at the Old Trafford with a knee injury but he is back fit and expected to start alongside Gomez in this third round FA Cup tie.

Alberto Moreno:

The Spaniard is unable to get into the first team at the club and this game will give him a chance to prove himself.

Kevin Stewart:

The young midfielder has been impressive in the few chances he got this season and Klopp should stick with him for this game against Plymouth.

Emre Can:

The German midfielder started the previous game against the same team at Anfield and should keep his place in the side for this game as well

Ovie Ejaria:

The youngster was not really effective in the first leg but Klopp should give him another chance on this trip to Plymouth.

Sheyi Ojo:

Though not at his best yet, Ojo is the only genuine winger in the side in the absence of Mane and he should get his chance in the first team for this game against Plymouth.

Ben Woodburn:

The young winger has been in sublime form for the junior side this season and he has a great chance to prove himself at the highest level in this FA Cup tie.

Daniel Sturridge:

An unused substitute in the game at the Old Trafford, Sturridge, is integral to the plans at Anfield and will lead the attack for his side in this crunch game.
