Indian wicket-keeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is known for his brilliance of deflecting the ball onto the stumps to effect a run-out as he had done it a number of times previously.
The 35-year old had done wonderful things as a keeper in the past but the trick has backfired today for the very first time.English batsmen Moeen Ali has knocked the ball to deep square leg and have tried running a double against the fielder.
However, Kedar Jadhav had a sharp throw from the deep right towards the stumps to effect the run-out but the former Indian skipper has spilt the chance as he failed to collect the ball properly and instead tried to deflect it to the stumps.
Despite this moment, MS Dhoni had a near perfect game as he scored 134 runs while batting and have scored his 10th ODI hundred. He has helped India from a very difficult situation alongside Yuvraj Singh as the duo put India in a strong position from 25/3 after 5 overs.
Here is the video where MS Dhoni spilt the chance to affect the run-out as Moeen Ali has gone on to score a half-century and looked a serious threat before India fought hard to win the game by 15 runs comfortably at the end.
