Eoin Morgan Says English Players Will Be Available For IPL Auction 1

England captain Eoin Morgan has broken the ice and has come out clean, revealing, most of his compatriots will be available for the 2016/17 IPL auction, which takes place on February 4.

Unlike past few years, where many England players were either not allowed to compete in the lucrative league or else were not picked considering the international fixtures, this time, the case would be different. Morgan also hopes many of them do get picked and get a chance to play more and more matches.

Morgan said he is also excited about being a part of season 10 of IPL.

“Yes, I do and a lot of them will be available for the auction this year. Hopefully, they will be picked up and playing the majority of the games. That’s the best case scenario.”

The left-handed batsman believes the IPL is a platform for energetic players in England team to grow and get more exposure, which would help them in the longer run. Morgan also feels to beat big teams on big stage, a player needs to have skills and IPL is the right platform, which will enhance such traits in them.

“It’s with our skill level. The belief is there, character is there, talent is there – it’s reproducing your skill level. As I mentioned, India are a tough side to beat at home. You need to have skill level. The guys playing the IPL I believe will set them up.”

The England captain, who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad, was instrumental throughout the tournament, helping his side clinch their maiden IPL title last year by beating Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final by four runs.
