BBL 06: Twitter Reacts As Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers Qualify For Semi-Finals 1

Two-time BBL champions Perth Scorchers qualified for BBL 06 semi-finals with a clinical seven-wicket victory over Hobart Hurricanes.

Needing 135 to win the match, the Perth Based-outfit romped to victory in the 14th over. The Scorchers began their chase poorly as Sam Whiteman was dismissed when the score was only 12 but a 82-run partnership between Michael Klinger (29) and Shaun Marsh (57) set the tone for an easy chase. Both batsmen were dismissed in quick succession but Adam Voges (20) and Ashton Turner (16) took the Scorchers home without any further hiccup.

Earlier, some disciplined bowling from Adam Voges’ men did not let the Hurricanes batsmen free their arms as they were reduced to a paltry 134. At 62 for 2 in the 10th over, the Hurricanes were looking well placed to get a good total, but four wickets inside 24 runs derailed their innings. Jonathan Wells (28) and Clive Rose (29) steadied the ship with an unbeaten 46-run partnership but could not score quick runs towards the end.
