The Indian Super League was created to help Indian football grow and provide Indian footballers not only the chance to play with some of the greats of the game but also some much needed exposure. The plan was to have a good team in the future but certain players have already shone for their clubs and one such player seems to have caught the eye of a Brazilian team.

Romeo Fernandes, who has been exceptional for FC Goa has caught the eye of Clube Atletico Paranaense, a top club from Brazil and they could finalize signing the Indian midfielder by the end of the month.

According to reports from the Times of India, a letter of interest has been sent to Dempo Sports club, who are Romeo’s parent club; Romeo has been loaned by Dempo to FC Goa for the ISL.

The letter states: “This letter is to show interest to have Romeo Fernandes on loan from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015.The loan deal shall be free of cost and Atletico Paranaense shall offer accommodation, meals and salary compatible to our under-23 team players,”

Paranaense had scouted 3 players in the ISL, all midfielders but finally chose Romeo after the midfielder got a bright report from Goa coach Zico.

What we can see from Romeo is the result of his practice and efforts. It is the fruit of his hard work. I keep on guiding him and give him confidence so that he can perform as per his capabilities,” said Zico.

Romeo has been one of the standout Indian performers in the league with 3 goals and 2 assists and has won 3 man of the match awards. Atletico would be looking to sign Romeo and would be looking to provide the Indian with first team action so that his growth continues, the Brazilian club have already loaned 5 players for the ISL which includes Delhi Dynamos’ Dos Santos and Pelissari for Chennaiyin FC.
