Atletico Madrid drew 2-2 away at Athletic Bilbao on Sunday in La Liga.
The result left the Rojiblancos fourth in the Spanish top flight with 35 points after 19 games. French striker Antoine Griezmann was busy in the Bilbao match.
The forward had a brilliant goal chalked off for offside, while he found the target with 10 minutes to go in the game to earn Diego Simeone’s side a share of the spoils.
It’s been widely reported by both Spanish and English media that Man United are interested in signing Griezmann. It’s believed the 25-year-old could move to Old Trafford at the end of the season.
Memphis Depay has left for Lyon and, the Manchester United No. 7 shirt has been left in tatters since Cristiano Ronaldo departed for Real Madrid in 2009.
The famous jersey needs a world-class player, who has experience of the grandest stage of all, to ensure that it is back where it belongs in the minds of the fans. Griezmann is young, but has plenty of experience behind him and the mental strength to ensure that the burden of expectation does not overcome him. He already wears No. 7 for Atletico, so just keep it free for him until the summer.
But the question is did Griezmann sent Manchester United a message over the weekend?
According to the likes of AS, after scoring the equaliser Griezmann shouted the following statement in French:
C’est ma maison, ici! (This is my house, here, here!)
Was the Atletico striker sending a message to Man United?
