Indian captain and wicket-keeper MS Dhoni on December 18th surpassed Syed Kirmani’s 88 match record to become the most capped wicket-keeper for India in Tests. He achieved this feat when he came out to keep the wickets in the second Test against Australia at Brisbane. 

In the 89 matches Dhoni has kept the wickets for India, he has affected 281 dismissals (the most by an Indian wicket-keeper ever in Tests), with 244 of them being caught and 37 of them being stumpings. 

Dhoni made his Test debut in 2005 against Sri Lanka at Chennai and till now in his 89 Tests, Dhoni has scored 4841 runs at an average of 38.42 with 6 hundreds and 33 fifties. Dhoni is yet to score a hundred outside sub-continent.
