Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed he held a crisis meeting with his players after the shock defeat to Swansea City that has dealt a huge blow to his team’s title hopes.
The Reds, who were second in the table a couple of weeks ago, have now dropped to fourth and are now 10 points behind league leaders Chelsea. Jurgen Klopp’s men are yet to win a Premier League game this year and the manager has admitted that his team is not enjoying the recent slump in form.
Speaking ahead of his team’s EFL Cup semi-final tie against Southampton on Wednesday, he said: “We’re not happy about the last results. They are not good enough. We had a long meeting after the last game, so I’m ready for the rest of the season.
“We made enough good things, but we made enough mistakes, bad things. Now we show that we learned from all of it,” he added.

The Merseyside outfit is set for a gruesome few days of football as after hosting the Saints in the EFL Cup tie which they are trailing by 1-0, they will welcome Wolves and Chelsea in the FA Cup and Premier League respectively. But Klopp has insisted his team is ready to move on from the latest setbacks.
He further said: “We have a lot of meetings. This one was necessary because the goals we’ve conceded in 2017 have been a little bit of the same story.
“The final mistake in a game, sometimes it’s the goalkeeper, sometimes it’s the defender, sometimes it’s somebody else.
“But most of the time, there are seven or eight players involved. That’s the type of defending I’m talking about.
“Everybody’s responsible for everything. It’s clear what we did wrong. We really have to do better. I knew about the problems we had after the Christmas period. But before the Swansea game, I thought I could see we are already back on the right track.
“I could see the freshness coming back in training but then we had that last game and that wasn’t too nice. We are Liverpool — a really good football- playing side — but they all must concentrate on defensive situations too,” added the former Borussia Dortmund coach.
