One of the prominent personalities in BCCI, Rajiv Shukla has stepped down from the post of Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) presidency along with five other office-bearers in the wake of accepting the Lodha Panel recommendations.
The resignations came after all the six members were violating either of the many recommendations laid down; firstly, any member shouldn’t be above the age of 70 and secondly, no one is allowed to officiate in the administration, if he/she has already served for more than nine years.
The other office-bearers who were stood down were Tahir Hasan, Madan Mohan Mishra (both vice-presidents), BC Jain (joint secretary – accounts), KN Tandon (treasurer) and Suhaib Ahmed (joint secretary).
Knowing the reason for the same, Shukla has served his tenure in UPCA for over nine years and same is the case with BC Jain. While all the other fours are above the age of 70 years.
As reported by Press Trust of India (PTI) Shukla will remain on the board of directors at the associations, alongside ten others, as the post does not come under the impression of the Lodha panel recommendations.
Shukla, however, said UPCA will accept the reforms and that new member elected in the next AGM.
“We’ll implement recommendations made by the Lodha panel. The fresh set of office-bearers will be elected at the next AGM.”
