Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials have finalised the 12-day schedule between the host India and visiting Bangladesh on Friday.
After losing the two-match Test series 2-0 against New Zealand which concluded recently, Bangladesh side will play a two-day practice match against India A before facing India in one-off Test which is scheduled on February nine at Rajiv Gandhi stadium in Hyderabad.
Bangladesh is arriving India on February 2nd as both the cricket boards have framed the schedule in a joint media statement.
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announce the itinerary of Bangladesh Cricket Team’s Tour of India – 2017 to play One-off Paytm Test Match against India at Hyderabad,” the media advisory stated.
However, earlier Bangladesh selectors and players have expressed their delight for getting the opportunity to play a Test match in India.
As India is leading the Test table by 120 points in 35 matches, Bangladesh is concurrently placed number ninth in the ICC Test Rankings with 62 points.
Bangladesh’s schedule in India:
On February three Bangladesh will start practising to gear up for the only Test.
On February 5 and 6 Bangladesh will play a two-day practice game in Secunderabad against India A.
On February seven and eight the visitors will train again which would be based on the longer sessions.
The historic Test for Bangladesh is scheduled between February 9 and 13
On February 14 Bangladesh will return home.
