Sanju Samson has been selected in the Kerala squad for the zonal league of the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy 2017. Samson was under the scanner during the Ranji Trophy as he allegedly went missing from the dressing room and for breaking the furniture. He later found himself in the dock but later apologised and when was let off after a stern warning.
Samson’s addition to the squad will bolster the Kerala side as he is known to be a specialist in the T20 format of the game.
Sachin Baby, who was in news a few days back for announcing his marriage in a distinctive style, has been named the captain of the side wth Sandeep Warrier his deputy for the tournament.
The squad also includes all-rounder Jalaj Saxena and left-arm spinner Iqbal Abdullah. Both the domestic veterans made a switch before the start of the season and opted to play for Kerala.
The team will meet Andhra Pradesh in their first game fo the tournament on January 29 before taking on Karnataka, Hyderabad, Goa and Tamil Nadu within a matter of one week.
