Jerome Taylor Has Got A Lot Of Cricket Left In Him: Shivnarine Chanderpaul 1

Shivnarine Chanderpaul, former West Indies batsman – who has recently signed a Kolpak deal with Lancashire – has said pacer Jerome Taylor has a lot of cricket left in him and the selectors should consider him on a regular basis.

“We all know what Jerome can do and he came out and showed what he can do. He’s still got a lot of cricket in him. I know he has retired from international (Test) cricket but he still has a lot to offer so it is up to him now to decide what he wants to do because we can still benefit from him.”

In mid 2000s, Jerome Taylor was one of the premier bowlers for the West Indies before he got sidelined because of injury and form. Taylor, who took retirement from Test cricket last year, played 46 Tests, in which he scalped 130 wickets. He is still an active player in the limited-overs cricket and has sent a reminder to the selectors with a vicious spell in the Regional Super50 tournament against Guyana. Chanderpaul scored a century for Guyana but his efforts went in vain as Taylor’s spell of 5/40 proved too lethal in front of his century.

West Indies is scheduled to play an ODI series against England followed by a complete series against Pakistan and one can hope Taylor to make a comeback, considering West Indies’ abysmal show in recent times.
