Australia‘s coach Darren Lehmann said that wicketkeeper batsman Brad Haddin‘s worrying batting collapse must end. Brad Haddin is considered as the senior statesman of the team and was also regarded for captaincy before Steven Smith was chosen to do the captaincy in place of injured Michael Clarke. He was appointed the vice-captain for the current Test series against India.

He has been recognized as one of the crucial players for the team but approaches Christmas in the middle of a substandard run with the bat that has diminished the effect of his sound glove-work to the team.

Darren Lehmann also said in a newspaper that they need Haddin to make runs, he knows that. He has been working very hard off the scenes. He had be downhearted with a couple of Test matches till now. He does contribute a lot off the scenes, which they truly love, and his keeping has been extraordinary.

But Darren Lehmann supported the under-pressure wicketkeeper and batsman to come good, motivating his hunger to return to form.

But still he has got to make more runs. They cannot have their No.7 not making any runs, he knows that. He is working very hard on it, so probably he will get some runs in Melbourne.

Haddin has so far triumphed in scoring only 21 runs from 4 innings in the two Test against India and has posted a trifling 92 runs at an average of 8.36 in his previous seven Tests.

Darren Lehmann also said Shane Watson must contribute to the team’s cause with the bat to explain his all-rounder stamp. The flexible right-hander played an important role in Brisbane with his energetic seam bowlers and worked well in tandem with fellow pacers to bother the India batsmen. He picked up a wicket in the Test match for his efforts.

He also said in that newspaper that they think Shane Watson did a quality job for Australia with the ball. He added that they would like him to make more runs but he did a quality job with the ball and he can do that all-rounder role for Australia.
