Shocking: Manchester United Star To Hold Final Talks With Jose Mourinho Before Leaving 1

With hopes of getting first-action looking absolutely bleak, Sergio Romero is reportedly ready to take a final call on his future by having a meeting with Manchester United chiefs.

According to reports in The Sun, the Argentina international, who still has 14-months left on his current contract, is happy at Old Trafford but he is finding it tough to keep himself away from first-team action. Moreover, he has been offered a escape route by three clubs including Argentine outfit Boca Juniors and the stopper, it seems, has made his mind over making a move away from the Premier League giants.

Sergio Romero will hold showdown talks with Manchester United

The report further claimed that the goalkeeper’s representatives will fly to Manchester in the next fortnight to held talks with United boss Jose Mourinho over the player’s future.

As quoted in the outlet, a United source said: “Sergio’s agents are flying over soon to discuss him being allowed to leave in the summer.
“He has a number of offers but Boca are pushing his camp for an answer or they will go after another target.

“He is happy here, but the lure of playing back in his home country and regular time on the pitch is tempting.

The 29-year old, who was signed by former United boss Louis van Gaal in 2015, has played a second fiddle to David de Gea since arriving at Old Trafford. He made 10 appearances in his inaugural season including 4 in the Premier League but he is still to play a single game in the Premier League this term. His six appearances have come in the cup competitions and the Europa League.

“It’s a difficult situation when you’re the understudy to one of the best goalkeepers in the world in David de Gea,” the source added.

Meanwhile, the outlet further claimed that club will not stop Romero from making a move which will allow Mourinho to look out for a replacement. United have high hopes from their 23-year old goalkeeper Sam Johnstone who is currently on loan at championship outfit Aston Villa.
