A timely wicket towards the end of the day has put India firmly in driver’s seat in the ongoing Test against Bangladesh in Hyderabad.
Replying to India’s mammoth first innings total of 687/6d, Bangladesh openers Tamil Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar made a steady start, adding 38 for the opening wicket before Sarkar edged an Umesh Yadav delivery to Wriddhiman Saha. He was initially given not out by the umpire before Virat Kohli took the review only to find his decision correct. Tamim and Mominul Haque then saw off the remaining overs as the visitors finished on 41/1, still 646 runs behind India’s first innings total of 687.
Earlier, resuming the day on 356 for 3, Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli laid the platform for a huge score by adding another 100 runs to their overnight partnership of 122 runs. The brilliant stand came to an end when Rahane was caught brilliantly by Mehedi Hasan after scoring 82. Few runs later, Virat Kohli departed too after scoring his fourth double-century but Bangladesh’s hopes of crawling their way back into the match was soon quashed by lower-order batsmen. Led by a brilliant century from Wriddhiman Saha, the hosts batted comfortably before declaring their innings on 687. Ravichandran Ashwin (34) and Ravindra Jadeja (60) also chipped in with useful knocks to add salt to Bangladesh’s wounds.

Kohli's DRS rule:
ODIs: Review whenever Dhoni says yes.
Tests: Review whenever Saha says no.
100% success guaranteed.#IndvBan— Twelfthman (@IamTwelfthman) February 10, 2017

Saha's continued from the pasting he gave Gujarat's bowlers in the Irani Cup. Truth be told, they were probably better. #INDvBAN
