Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has yet again signaled about his unhappiness over lack of playing time. Despite being bought back from Juventus last summer, the Spaniard was merely used as a back up for Karim Benzema by coach Zinedine Zidane.
The 24-year old had been in sensational form during his time with Italian champions but has failed to break into the first team at Real Madrid after returning back to his home club. He has been increasingly frustrated over the lack of involvement in the team plans.
Morata has appeared for Real Madrid in 27 games so far this season and have scored 10 goals. However, only 10 out of these 27 appearances were starts for the Spaniard which is making his time difficult at Santiago Bernabeu this season.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea were linked with the Spaniard and the Premier League duo would monitor the situation before making a summer move if possible.
Despite lack of playing time, Morata has insisted that he is happy but have also highlighted about his lack of playing time.
‘I’m happy and I want to triumph at Real Madrid, but it’s also true that I would like to be playing more,’ Morata told Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The 24-year old is determined to win both La Liga and retain Champions League as Los Blancos are in fine from this season and has also revealed that he will make a decision on his future at the end of the season.
‘Now we have to try to win the league and the Champions League; after that, we’ll see if the coach is counting on me or not’ he explained.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea could be favorites to land the talented striker this summer as reports last week suggested that Real Madrid are keen to extend the contract of Karim Benzema.
