After a dismal inaugural season in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Rising Pune Supergiants will be desperate to do some smart business when the auction takes place on 20th of this month for the upcoming season.

The new-comers had begun the season with an emphatic victory over defending champions Mumbai Indians but managed only four more wins thereafter as they finished second last. Well, the squad was not too bad considering the fact that it had three captains of their respective national sides in the team, including India’s most successful captain and two-time IPL winner Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Steven Smith and Faf du Plessis were the other two. They were further boosted by the inclusion of Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kevin Pietersen, Ishant Sharma and Mitchell Marsh. Pune’s batting lineup was as strong as any other team’s in the competition. However, the team management failed to cover all the bases and it cost them dearly at the end.
