West Indies off-spinner Sunil Narine is hopeful to showcase his flair by yielding much-required results with the ball during his maiden Pakistan Super League (PSL) stint for Lahore Qalandars ,before praising Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah by terming him as an ‘attacking’ bowler among the current crop of slow-bowlers.

While having an impressive record in the longer format, Yasir will be the spin-bowling partner of Narine for Qalandars and according to the overseas recruit, the leggie is shaping up nicely in the shorter version of the game.

“He (Yasir) is a very good bowler, he is a very attacking spinner, and gets a lot of wickets, his presence helps me, it is nice bowling with him,” Narine was quoted as saying by Geo.tv.

The Arima-born Narine, who is at seventh position in the ICC’s Twenty20 Bowling Rankings, wants to improve as the slow bowler during the ongoing PSL.

Equally handy with the bat, Narine has picked up five wickets in three matches while bowling in tandem with Yasir for Qalandars, who were at the bottom of ladder in the inaugural edition of PSL.

“It’s my first chance in the PSL (Pakistan Super League) and it’s a good learning experience like the Indian Premier League, the CPL (Caribbean Premier League) and the BPL (Bangladesh Premier League). It’s always nice to get a chance and improve,” Narine was quoted as saying by Wisden India.

The 28-year-old bowler Narine expressed that he’ll give his best on field while playing selfless cricket for Qalandars.

“Hopefully I can do whatever the team requires of me. I can do the best for the team and just keep enjoying the game and hopefully we could win games and ultimately the title.” Narine concluded.

Yasir, who missed out on the inaugural edition of PSL while serving a three-month doping ban, has picked five wickets in his three appearances so far.

Sunil, who has played 39 Twenty20 Internationals for the West Indies, has taken 40 wickets at an average of 20.95.
