Real Madrid president is not a fan of current No.1 Keylor Navas and it was evident that the club had tried to make a marquee signing previously to replace Iker Casillas at the club.
Recent reports suggest that the Los Blancos are even more desperate to sign a new goalkeeper this summer after the silly mistake made by Keylor Navas in the Champions League clash against Napoli when Insigne scored inside 8 minutes for the away team.
Real Madrid eventually won the game 3-1 but president Perez is keen to make a marquee goalkeeper signing and it is a known fact that the club are interested in Manchester United’s David de Gea and Chelsea’s Thiabut Courtois.
The European champions have tried to sign de Gea in 2015 summer but has failed as Louis van Gaal and Manchester United have managed to keep hold of him in the final hours of the deadline day.
The Spaniard had then signed a new contract with the club and looked determined under Jose Mourinho this season. Real Madrid are once again keen to sign the Spaniard even after the fax gate incident.
Barcelona based newspapers Sport and Mundo Deportivo both claim that Real are keen to sign de Gea this summer for a record fee as they are ready to offer Navas in a swap deal for the Red Devils.
However, Real are also looking for Thibaut Courtois as an alternate signing as the Real Madrid president has never hidden his admiration for Chelsea’s No.1 Thibaut Courtois who had proven his class during his spell with Atletico Madrid.
Despite interest in Courtois, Perez is determined to get de Gea to Santiago Bernabeu for next season especially after fax prank that happened 18 months ago. The European champions are keen to get their desired target to prove a point to other clubs.
Last week, Spanish newspaper Marca ran a story de Gea and Real Madrid and the player was quoted as saying ‘nobody knows the future’.
