Take a bow, what a captain that India has produced. A railway ticket collector turning into a international cricketer is the stuff of dreams that India can be proud of. His achievements are no mere fluke. When he came into the international scence he was swashbuckling player but with time and the pressure of captaincy he has become more mature. His ability to read the situation, play calmly made him one of the best finishers in the modern day cricket.

MS Dhoni has won so many trophies which comprises of CB Series in 2008, the first T-20 World Cup held in South Africa, the 50 over World cup in 2011, the Champions Trophy win in 2013 and runners up World cup T-20 in 2014. Apart from that, he won Test series in Newzeland and under his captaincy his side become the number 1 side in Test cricket which they finally lost in England 4-0 in 2011. In the Indian Premier League he won 2 titles in 2010 and 2011, runners up in 2012, 2013 and which shows the consistency in the team. In the champions League T-20 Chennai Super Kings won 2 titles.

Under his captaincy there was also some bad times which Dhoni would love to forget soon. He lost test series 4-0 in England and also in Australia. They played badly in the ODI Series in England losing 3-0 due to injuries. India did not reach the finals of Asia Cup 2012 and 2014. He also lost the the ODI and Test series in South Africa and New Zealand. In 2014 he lost tests in New Zealand, South Africa, England and Australia.

He has groomed players and given chances to players to prove their mettle. One of the example is Rohit Sharma who was inconsistent but finally after being given so many chances he scored a double ton, even Ravindra Jadjea now a permanent member of team.

I hope Dhoni would add another feather in his cap winning another major ICC tournament in the World cup 2015. MS Dhoni is an excellent player and captain in shorter format of the game. He can change the complextion of the game with his batting.

With his retirement in Test cricket now his focus should be on defending the World Cup 2015. Winning the World Cup again will show that as a captain and batsman he is one of the greatest finishers in 50 overs cricket. MS Dhoni has been a role model for the youth of this country.
