The Indian Premier League franchise Ring Pune Supergiants coach Stephen Fleming has expressed the all-rounder like Ben Stokes add much value in the outfit after the first all-rounder’s’ slate of bid was concluded while playing the masterstroke.
After Supergiants acquired the service of Stokes, he became the expensive foreign player while edging past his countrymen Kevin Pietersen who had drawn riches in 2009 edition.
“We are happy to have him [Stokes] in the outfit,” “We can afford the luxury by having the Ben Stokes and Micthell Marsh as an all-rounders,” Fleming said.
It is more likely the Pune Supergiants might go under the major overhauling after veteran batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni has stepped down as the Pune’s skipper a day before the IPL Player’s auction.
“Ben stokes is a big player for such a fast-paced platform. We wanted to go hard at everything,” Fleming said.
Pune Supergiants spend staggering 14.5 crore on promising all-rounder Stokes who recently had a good outing in India and was on every franchises’ table for a bid.
“Everybody had a chance from Mumbai, Sunrisers Hyderabad to Bangalore but were we lucky during the bidding process,” Fleming concluded.
While making the debut in IPL, Pune Supergiants were listed seventh in the IPL 2016 after making appearance with another franchise Gujarat Lions following the suspension of Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings over the involvement of adminsitrators in fixing scandal.
Supergiants,who would like to improve and give their best in this season by adding more value to the bench. They were able to register five wins in 14 games in the ninth edition of IPL.
