India vs Australia 2017: It Was A Tough Test Match For India But It's A Part And Parcel Of The Game, Says Sachin Tendulkar 1

The former Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has come in support of the Indian team after the home side suffered a loss at the hands of Australia in the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Pune as he said,

“Coming to India-Australia Test series, it was a tough Test match for us. But it is a part and parcel of the game. The loss (in the first Test) does not mean that the series is lost, the series is still wide open.”

“Knowing the spirit of the Indian team I know that they will fight back hard. Australian team also knows about it because when we beat them, we also knew that they are going to come back at us really hard. I have no doubt that the Indian team is going to come back and compete hard,” he added.

Tendulkar is few of the former players who have come in support of Indian team after the loss against the so-called weak combination of Australia. It was deemed to be an easy contest for the Indian team but the visitors rode on a gritty batting line up and a superlative piece of spin bowling to stamp a win.

The plan to prepare a spin track backfired as it were the Australian spinners that went on to reap benefits from the pitch. In addition to that, the way Australian batsmen stood tall, was something from which the India can take an example from.

The second Test of the series kicks off on 4 March at Bangalore where the visitors will look continue their dominance whereas the home side will look to bounce back.
