1. Chelsea set to sign Andrej Kramaric
Premier League leaders Chelsea are on the verge of signing Andrej Kramaric from Croatian side Rijeka. Sunday Express reports The Blues’ legend Didier Drogba is set to hang up his boots at the end of the current campaign, hence making sense in signing the Croatian forward. Kramaric, 22, has scored an incredible 21 league goals in 19 appearances, and also a further 5 in the Europa League. If rumours are to be believed, Jose Mourinho wants to loan the former Dinamo Zagreb man straight to Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch League soon after he signs for the London club.
2. Mark Schwarzer to join Leicester
Chelsea stopper Mark Schwarzer is close to sealing a loan deal with Premier League strugglers Leicester. The Foxes are without first choice goalkeeper through injury, and the signing of the 42-year old would provide them experience between the sticks. Sky Sport, along with this story also believes that Nigel Pearson is also chasing former Spurs striker Jermain Defoe.
3. Ryan Bertrand wants to make Saints switch permanent
Southampton’s Chelsea owned left-back Ryan Bertrand is enjoying his life with the South Coast club, and spoke of his willingness to stay for longer than expected. The Saints signed the England U-21 left back on loan from The Blues, and wants his stay to be made permanent. Talking to setaneta.com, he said,“I’m very happy here, playing week-in, week-out first and foremost. Playing the way we play, with these players, this manager and this coaching staff is getting the best out of me.”
When asked if he can see himself playing at St Mary’s on a permanent basis, Bertrand replied: “Yeah definitely. I’m enjoying my football here so we will see what the future holds.”
4. Chelsea thwarted in Gareth Bale pursuit
Chelsea, along with Manchester United, have been informed by Wales winger Gareth Bale that he has no intention of leaving the Santiago Bernabeu. The world record signing, who moved to the Spanish capital from Tottenham last summer, was a £100million target for the Premier League duo, Sunday Express reckons. But the Real Madrid star has played down talk of any such move.
