Real Madrid Star To Make London Move, Chelsea Set To Swoop 1
Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is set to make a move to London this summer, according to reports in Spain.
The talented young striker was signed back from Juventus last summer but was hardly given opportunities to prove his worth. He played second fiddle to Karim Benzema as Zidane preferred the Frenchman ahead of academy star.
He has started seven times in the league so far but has still managed to score eight goals making sure that he is able to make the most of the given opportunities by the manager. However, he still started on the bench in their 3-2 win against Villarreal before scoring the winner in the 83rd minute coming on as a substitute.
Speaking after the game, Zidane has revealed that both Isco and Morata deserve more minutes.
“There is no doubt that Isco and Morata deserve to get more minutes,” he said.
“They did very well and changed the game for us. I’m certain that we will need to call on the whole squad.
“I gave Morata a couple of tactical bits of advice and told him he needed to be in the box to finish any chances and for him to stick on Bruno in the middle when we were defending.”
However, according to Don Balon, Morata have already made up his mind on moving away from the club this summer. He has drawn interest from a number of clubs across Europe and Antonio Conte is one of the keenest managers in signing him next summer.
The Spaniard will form an excellent strike duo with Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge and will also be the right option for the Blues if Costa decides to move away since the latter have only one year left on his contract.
Morata is one of the best young strikers in Europe and it will not be easy for Chelsea to sign him as a host of clubs are keen to sign him this summer.
