Real Madrid and Barcelona are set to face off against each other at Miami as part of their pre-season preparations, suggests reports in the USA.
Known as “El Classico”, it would be the first time both the Spanish giants would face against each other in the United States of America. More importantly, both the teams have never played outside Spain in the past three decades.
The last time they played against each other outside Spain is in Venezuela cup in 1982 where Los Blancos won the game by 1-0. However, both the clubs have kept on growing to be the two best clubs in the world today.
A source has confirmed NBC, that the game will take place in “late July” as both the clubs are keen to invade the potential US market which has been primarily ruled by Premier League clubs so far.
The exhibition match is expected to take place in Hard Rock stadium in Miami ahead of the 2017-18 season. The fixture is expected to have a huge impact on the American crows as they will have the chance to see some of the best players in the world in action.
Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos, Sergio Ramos and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Neymar, Luis Suarez are some of the biggest names that could be playing in the friendly.
Both Real Madrid and Barcelona have faced off against each other for 365 times prior to the date which also include 33 exhibition games. The two clubs are the most successful teams in Spain as well as Europe as they have dominated the game over the past century.
