Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar were all on target as Barcelona ran riot against Sporting Gijon to go top of the La Liga with a comfortable 6-1 victory.
Needing a win to remain hot on the heels of La Liga leaders Real Madrid, the home team began strongly and were 2-0 up inside 11 minutes through Messi and an own goal from Juan Rodriguez. 10 minutes later, the visitors halved the deficit through Carlos Castro but Luis Suarez’s sensational volley in the 27th minute helped the title hopefuls restore the two-goal cushion before the break.
Luis Enrique’s men began in a similar fashion after the break as Paco Alcacer scored the fourth goal for his team in the 49th minute to put the game to the bed. Neymar soon joined the party by scoring from a free-kick. Ivan Rakitic capped off the fine night for the Catalan giants by scoring four minutes from time.

Real Madrid are practically giving the league to Barcelona. Worse still, its against these small teams that Real Madrid suffer.

Luis Suarez has now scored 75 goals in just 85 #LaLiga games since joining Barcelona in 2014/15.

It's the mentality which separates Cristiano Ronaldo from other footballers.
Take that killer mentality out of Ronaldo, that's Neymar.

Barcelona must now scour the globe to find someone who can tell Suarez, Messi and Neymar what time they have to arrive at the ground.
