100th Test: BCB Arranges Special Memorabilia For Colombo Test Against Sri Lanka 1

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), has announced to present the special memorabilia’s to Mushfiqur Rahim-led side which will be based on the crests and caps to make it even memorable moment for the national cricket team and the team management on the Hundredth Test match for the country as a team.

After achieving the Test status back in 2000, Bangladesh is set to play 100th Test when they will face Sri Lanka in the second Test match of the two-match Test series in Colombo on March 15.

“We have less opportunity to celebrate the hundredth Test match as Bangladesh is playing it in foreign soil. Little would we do to make it memorable afterwards. BCB has decided to hand over special crest and caps to the players on this occasion,” BCB Media Committee Chairman Jalal Yunus was quoted as saying by Bdcrictime.com.

It would be an ideal situation for the visitors to win their hundredth Test against hosts.
Compromised around 50 Test series’, Bangladesh had won eight Tests, lost 75 Tests and drew 15 in 98 overall Tests they have played so far since 2000.

The reports suggested the BCB in talks with Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC), in a bid to make special arrangement for the auspicious occasion for the visitors.

“We cannot do much to be honest, given we are playing the game away from home. We shared our plan to have some special crests made for the occasion and exchange those with the home board (SLC) through a simple ceremony,” Jalal was quoted as saying by Dhaka Tribune.

However, the 21-year-old injury-marred Mustafizur Rahman is playing the two-day warm-up match at Zoysa Stadium in Moratuwa against Sri Lanka Cricket President XI after being sidelined for a long gap in the Test format.

The Satkhira-born Mustafizur has played 11 One-day Internationals, 15 Twenty20 Internationals and two Tests since making his debut in Dhaka against Pakistan.

Ranked as number nine in the MRF Tyres ICC Test Rankings, Bangladesh will also be the last among the Full Members to complete the century in the longer version of the game.
