The most anticipated Indian team for the 2015 World Cup has been announced few moments ago. There are no surprises in the 15 member squad that is led by MS Dhoni. As expected there is no place for Yuvraj Singh in India’s squad for the 2015 World Cup as selectors have kept faith in the youngsters rather than the experienced players. MS Dhoni and Duncan Fletcher too attended the meeting via Video confrence.

The Indian team for the World Cup has six specialist batsmen excluding MS Dhoni, five pacers and three All-Rounders. Ravindra Jadeja, who is scheduled to be out of action for the coming days due to an injury has been included in the squad. It was said that Jadeja will be back in action by January 20 if his rehab goes well and in-case he fails to recover in time for the World Cup, BCCI can replace him on the medical ground.

Thirteen of these 15 are certainties and for the remaining two slots, nearly five players were in contention. Stuart Binny makes the cut in the squad for his domestic record and his ability to bowl medium pace.

The announcement of the squad was delayed after the South Zone selector Roger Binny arrived late for the meeting because of a delay in his aircraft. There were a lot of speculations that Yuvraj Singh might be selected in the squad. The selectors have confirmed that his name was discussed in the meeting.
