What a start to the F1 racing after the mid season break. Hamilton took the pole, his 4th in a row. He was spot on, as his Mercedes set the fastest lap in changing conditions. The Championship leader Sebastian Vettel and his team mate Mark Webber took the second and third spot on what is expected to be a testing but exciting race Tomorrow. Rain 15 minutes before Q1 left much of the track wet, obliging everyone to start the session on Pirelli’s intermediate tyres. But as the Q1 progressed, the track started drying up and time started plunging. Alonso topped the chart followed by Hamilton. Williams had the worst of the days as both of their drivers didn’t plan their lap well ending 17th and 20th. The Qualifying 2 was truly enthralling. With the track drying up and rain choosing to stay away, lap times came down in heaps. Each passing moment saw the lap time tumble and in the end Iceman Kimi Raikkonen in his Lotus led the chart followed by Alonso and Rosberg. The Rain returned at the start of Qualifying 3 and it all boiled down to Strategy and luck. Ferrari’s luck ran out as their drivers spun and skidded in wet condition with Alonso finishing 9th and Massa 10th at the end of Qualifying session. Force India had their moments and it almost looked like Paul Di Resta would take the Pole for the first time. But just before the end of the session , Track conditions improved and Webber set the fastest lap, but then Vettel completed ahead of him. Just when everyone thought that it was the Red Bull’s once again, Hamilton posted a flying lap to take up the POLE! “A fourth pole in a row just feels fantastic! The team did a great job to get the timing at the end of Q3 absolutely perfect and I was in exactly the right track position.” an elated Hamilton said after the race. QUALIFIER RESULTS:
