Lionel Messi's Phone Call Celebration: Here Is What It Really Meant 1

Spanish giants Barcelona have not been at their best this season and have been training to rivals Real Madrid in the domestic league for most of the season.

However, they have finally managed to get over Real in the points table to move to the first place, even as Real have a game in hand and the manager at the Camp Nou will be happy with the progress of the team in the last few games.

The Catalan giants were once again ruthless in their approach to the domestic game this weekend when they faced a deflated Celta de Vigo at home on Saturday.

A brace from Lionel Messi goals from Neymar Jr, Rakitic and Umtiti gave Barcelona a much-needed victory as they managed to keep up with their Bernabeu rivals, to retain their top spot, at least till the midweek.

The visitors had little chance of taking even a point from this game as most of the Barcelona players were in tremendous form but one player that showed yet against that he could be inhuman is Lionel Messi.

The Argentine magician scored two goals in either half to keep Barcelona running and both his goals were just breathtaking to watch.

His second came when he was released down the right flank with loads of space to run into. Messi is too good to miss out on opportunities like that and literally passed it into the back of the net to score Barcelona’s 5th on the night.

But it was his first goal that stole the show.

Messi picked up the ball just ahead of the half-way line and the dribbler that he is, ran rings around the Vigo defense.

A couple of stepovers and subtle change in pace saw Messi leave 4 defenders to dead and though he was closed down once he got into the box, he managed to find a way to curl the ball into the corner.

It was a goal reminiscent of Messi at his best and what followed next has taken the social media by a storm.

Messi, who has a trademark celebration came up with something interesting in this game. After scoring the first goal, he was seen pretending to make a phone call, as a part of the celebration.

Here is his celebration:

Many fans felt that he was asking clubs to ring him up for a move in the summer. Here are many such reactions that took Twitter by storm:
