The former Australian cricketer and pace bowler Glenn McGrath, said about the tries of his charity to bring awareness about breast cancer. Jane, McGrath’s wife had ached from cancer and passed away in 2008. Glenn McGrath Iinitiated the McGrath Foundation during his wife’s fight with the disease. The New Year’s Test in Sydney at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) is labeled as the ‘Pink Test’ in support for the cause. The Day Three of the ongoing Test between India and Australia is being marked as the Jane McGrath Day.

As per The Daily Telegraph, McGrath said, this donation is a great way to initiate their celebration of a decade of making a difference all together. Jane was only 31 years old when she was examined, gaining breast awareness was always crucial to her, especially young women. He said he is very lucky to do what he does and he want to give back. He look at it as a day of celebration, it is a great legacy for my children James and Holly, they look forward to today and this Test match.

McGrath was quoted saying: “I love cricket, always will, and the SCG is my favourite ground in the world. To see the support we get at this Test match, and especially on the third day, something pretty special has been created here.”

It was also known that the State Government is ready to donate USD 2 million to the foundation. Since being it is initiatedalmost a decade ago, they have been able to raise USD 6.5 million.
