Barcelona Fan Killed By A PSG Faithful After Mocking Him For The 6-1 Victory In The Champions League 1

Luis Enrique’s Barcelona side created history earlier this week as they became the first team to overturn a  goal deficit in the knockout stage of Europe’s elite competition.

Having lost the first leg of the Round of 16 tie 4-0 against PSG away from home, Barcelona needed a mini-miracle to get into the next round.

They needed 5 unanswered goals to qualify for the quarter-finals but Edinson Cavani’s goal in the second half meant that Barcelona had to score 3 more goals in the final 9 minutes of the game to have a shot at qualification.

Score 3 they did, thanks to a gritty performance from Brazilian winger Neymar Jr.

He scored from a free-kick, converted a penalty and then assisted the winner for Sergi Roberto, giving his side a memorable victory.

This victory saw fans across the world take notice of how the Catalan giants have achieved the unthinkable and even 4 days after the victory, there is plenty of talk about the game on social media.

So it does not come as a surprise that diehard fans of the both the clubs are still reeling the effects of this game.

Barcelona won the 2nd leg 6-1 which was humiliating for a club of PSG’s stature and this was a good time for the fans of the Spanish outfit to take a dig at the fans of the French club who were knocked out of the competition.

However, yesterday in Gabon, the mocking seemed to have gone a bit too far and it is now reported that two friends got into a fight that resulted in the death of a Barcelona fan in a bar in Africa.

According to AFP and law agency, an 18-year old PSG fan stabbed his friend in the neck after the two were involved in an argument over this incredible comeback.

The incident took place in the capital of Gabon, Libreville, with the young fan reportedly being visibly intoxicated before he killed his friend.

The victim died at the scene with the alleged attacker admitting to his actions but said he did not intend to murder his friend.

Asked by AFP, a judicial source confirmed that the mockery was at the root of the killing and the alleged attacker was arrested.

It was a night to remember for many fans across the world but incidents like these need to curbed in order to save the image of the game.
