2014 CLT20: Cobras Raring to Go against the Kings

Editor Sportzwiki / 30 September 2014

After narrowly beating Barbados Tridents in the super over, Cape Cobras is all set to lock horns against Kings XI Punjab in their last group game of the competition. Kings XI, who are already through to the semis will look to continue their winning run and n the other hand, Cobras are all but out of the tournament if Hobart Hurricanes win the preceding match against Barbados Tridents.

If Hobart loses the game, Cobras needs to win, and win big. They will however be up against a Kings XI Punjab side that has won three out of three, and out-batted every team they have faced in the tournament. Kings XI, who are on a giant killing spree has been getting some valuable contributions from all the players of their squad will play the same team instead of tinkering with the playing XI.

The form of the spinners will be a concern for the Cobras as their paces too have started leaking runs. Punjab will look for Maxwell, who is in due for a big knock to fire on all cylinders and get back to form before the semis. Playing at home, Punjab will be expecting some help from the wickets, which is usually sportive to both the teams. Dew might come in during the match but it wont have any impact on the game.

Possible Playing XI:

Kings XI Punjab: Virender Sehwag, Manan Vohra, Wriddhiman Saha, Glenn Maxwell, David Miller, George Bailey, Thissara Perera, Akshar Patel, Parwinder Awana, Anureet Singh and Karamveer Singh.

Cape Cobras: Richart Levi,Hashim Amla, Dane Vilas, Justin Ontpng, Justin Kemp, Robin Peterson, Sybrand Engelbrecht, Charl Langaveldt, Vernon Philander, Rory Kleinveldt and Dane Piedt.
