Here in this article we preview the Pakistan Team’s chances in the 2014 World T20.

Pakistan Cricket team and the word inconsistency go hand in hand with each other and that’s because of the inconsistency of the Pakistan Cricket team. They are the most inconsistent team at present as they have the ability to win some touch matches out of nowhere and falter in matches, which is considered as a walk in the park for them. Keeping all these things apart, Pakistan is the most successful team in World T20 as they are the only team to reach the semi-finals in all of the previous editions. They will once again go into the tournament as underdogs and can cause an upset in the Group of Death. Here, we bring you the analysis of the Pakistan Cricket team for the 2014 ICC World Twenty20.

Squad:

Captain: Mohammad Hafeez

Coach: Moin Khan

Batsmen:

Bowlers:

All-Rounders:

Wicket Keepers:

If India has a mighty strong bowling line-up, then Pakistan are blessed to have a similar kind of batting. Their batting line-up is well known for collapsing out of nowhere and costing the game for the team. Opener Ahmed Shehzad is in great touch and he will look to provide the kind of start his team is expecting from him. In all likelihood, he is expected to open the innings with the returning wicket keeper Kamran Akmal. Pakistan are handicapped by the absence of their ODI skipper and their star batsman, Misbah-ul-Haq. The void left by him is too difficult to replace. But given the fact that the tournament is of just 20 overs per innings, his absence won’t be a major headache for the team management. Pakistan have the likes of talented Umar Akmal and Sohaib Maqsood in the middle order. Maqsood can keep the scoreboard moving without taking any risks and Umar is capable of handing the opposition some lusty blows. The area where Pakistan is much better than the other sides in the tournament is the presence of some quality All-Rounders backed by a bagful of impressive bowlers. Their All-Round trio of skipper Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik and Shahid Afridi are proven match winners in the past and has the ability to win matches for their tram with both bat and ball. 3-3 overs of Shahid Afridi batting at the crease will see Pakistan rocket towards a more than good total. Their All-Rounders are capable of bowling their full quota of 4 overs with some economical bowling. Their bowlers on the other hand, can defend a low total with ease. They have the best pacer in T20, Umar Gul who will be ably supported by impressive Junaid Khan. Sohail Tanvir will share the new ball with Mohammad Hafeez. Their X-Factor in the tournament is their spinner Saeed Ajmal who is currently the most feared spinner in the world apart from Sunil Narine. Batsmen will look to play him out without giving him a wicket and that piles up the pressure on the batting team to lose some wickets to other bowlers as well as Ajmal. Pakistan has the best bowling attack in the tournament.

Possible Playing XI:  Ahmed Shehzad, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Hafeez, Sohaib Maqsood, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Mailk, Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul, Junaid Khan, Saeed Ajmal, Sohail Tanvir.
