Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin got injured during the practice session ahead of the final game against Pakistan. He was hit on his knee. However, he was immediately given the medical attention needed and an ice pack was applied on his knee, to get the bowler fit.
Ashwin was hit on his knee during the session and immediately, the physio was quick to give him medical attention as Ashwin will be quite crucial for the Indian team going into the game, who has the capability to spin the game in India ‘s favour. Earlier, there were expectations that Umesh Yadav might make a comeback in the team, looking at his performance in the previous game against Pakistan where he grabbed three wickets in the league stage game but with skipper Virat Kohli confirming no changes in the side, it has ruled out Umesh Yadav out of equation, with Ashwin automatically getting a place for the big final against Pakistan.
Both the teams will face each other on June 18 at the Kennington Oval in London, where India will have an eye to defend their Champions Trophy title whereas Pakistan will look to upset India in this game.
Going in the game, India is the favourites to win the final contest as the team has been in good form, barring that one upset which came against Sri Lanka, where Lankan team chased down a target of 322 to hand India their first defeat. Same has been the case with Pakistan as well as they have the same number of losses in this tournament i.e. one and the form which they are coming in, India cannot take this team lightly as a bit of fumble can see an upset here at this stage.
Meanwhile, a news from Pakistan camp has revealed that Mohammed Amir is set to play the final of Champions Trophy. Shadab Khan might have to vacate his place for the left-handed pacer. Rest of the team is expected to be same. On the other side, Virat Kohli has confirmed an unchanged squad for the big final against arch rivals Pakistan.
