Forbes India’s  list of 100 richest Indian celebrity  released today. Eight Indian cricketers featured in the list which is ruled by Bollywood luminaries. Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is leading the list as he earned 257.5 crore,  which is 9 per cent of total celebrity earning of 2015 Rs, 2,819 crores. Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan’s coffer brimmed with RS 202.75 and Rs 112 crore.

The list of top 10 also comprised of three Indian cricketers. Sachin Tendulkar who retired from international cricket still made the top 10 along with India’s limited over captain MS Dhoni and Test captain Virat Kohli.

MS Dhoni is the richest Indian cricketer. He stands at No 4 as he earned 7 crores more than Amitabh, but he was beaten by the veteran actor on par popularity. Virat Kohli surpassed Sachin at No 7 with Rs 104.78 crore. The former master blaster earning of this financial year is Rs. 40 crore.

At the meantime, young Indian cricket star Rohit Sharma moved up the list largely due to a spurt in their fame quotient. Last year Sharma was at No 32 last year. This year he entered the list of 20. He won the IPL  2015 as the captain of Mumbai Indians, his 264 against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens in November 2014 and news about his engagement boost his popularity across the market.




The surprise of the list is Ishant Sharma, who is in the top 50. Sharma’s fame quotient rose as he become pace spearhead of Indian bowling department. His performance against Sri Lanka in August and his new hair style helped him to gain popularity. In the list of top 50 along with Ishant three other players were also there. Harbhajan Singh, who nowadays occasionally get a chance to play for India, recently retired explosive Indian opener Virender Sehwag and India discarded Gautam Gambhir, whose polarity vary on his IPL performance for as Kolkata Knight Riders as captain featured in the list of top 50. Their revenues are in the range of Rs 1.5-7 crore, but their popularity has ensured a higher ranking on the 2015 Forbes India Celebrity 100 list. The category also features Bollywood celebrity like Yo Yo Honey Singh, Sunny Leone and Jacqueline Fernandez.

This year the list of top 100 also has seen debutant like Ravichandran Ashwin as the spin wizard has been the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket in 2015. He was leading wicket taker in India’s series victory Sri Lanka and South Africa that helped him to float popularity.
