In 6 days’ time, India will take on Zimbabwe in short limited over’s series including 3 ODI’s and 3 T20’s. The Indian selectors have rested senior players and given a chance to players who have performed well in domestic circuit and also in IPL 9. The Zimbabwe tour provides these youngsters to perform and stake a claim in the Indian team. Here we look at the 5 Indian youngsters who would look to make an impression in Zimbabwe tour.

  1. Yuzvendra Chahal

Chahal played a key role for Royal Challengers Bangalore team this year. He picked 21 wickets in the tournament and was impressive with his flight. His bowling helped RCB to reach the finals. In the finals to he bowled well taking 2 wickets. Because of his impressive performance, Chahal has received a maiden call to the Indian team. His best quality is that he is not afraid of giving flight and deceives the batsmen to play a big stroke. Despite going for runs, the leg spinner gave runs at 8.15 runs per over in IPL 9 which is decent for a spinner. Chahal had to wait six years for this chance to come into the team India. This Zimbabwe tour will be a great chance for Chahal to showcase his bowling skills. With no R Ashwin and Jadeja in the bowling line up, the responsibility lies on him to deliver on his first tour and impress the selectors with his attacking bowling.  He has also played for Haryana in domestic cricket.
