Pavan Suresh / 21 July 2015

From tomorrow the India A series will be starting under the new coach Rahul Dravid. The series will begin with 4 day match against Australia A. There are players in the team which have played for the country but have been selected for this tournament to come back into the form. Here are the 5 Key Players to watch out for India A Series.

  1.        Cheteshwar Pujara

Cheteshwar Pujara is an excellent batsman but has been not in good form for the past few months. He has been named as the captain of the team and will be looking to score big runs. In the test series against Australia he got scores but failed to convert into big ones. The great Rahul Dravid said that Pujara has the ability bounce back and regain his form. He went to play county and scored some runs. Pujara will be eager to score runs and get back a place in the Indian senior team.

  1.        KL Rahul

KL Rahul is an excellent batsman which has great technique and skills to succeed at the top level. He made a lot of runs in domestic circuit. He made his test debut on 26th December and had a poor debut. In the last test match against Australia he scored a brilliant ton. He has scored triple tons in domestic circuit. KL Rahul missed the test match against Bangladesh held in June. KL will be looking to score big runs in the 4 day matches and with Dravid as a role model with him it will help him to become better batsman.

  1.        Sheryas Iyer

Sheryas Iyer is an excellent young batsman from Mumbai. He made his domestic debut in 2015 and scored 809 runs with 2 centuries in his debut season. He has also played for Indian Premier League side Delhi Daredevils in 2015 and was awarded the emerging player of the tournament. He is an excellent batsman with good technique. This type of exposure playing with players who played for India will help him to grow as a solid batsman and learn more from Rahul Dravid about the game.

  1.        Umesh Yadav

Umesh Yadav played an important role in helping India to reach the semi finals of World Cup 2015. But in the test matches against Australia, he struggled to pick wickets and went for too many runs. He has pace but he needs to bowl with consistent line and length. In One day International series against Bangladesh he was dropped after one match. This India A tour will help Umesh Yadav to progress as a bowler and with Rahul Dravid as the guide it the pace bowler to take wickets in test matches. He has only played 12 test matches but gives away too many runs in the process.

  1.        Amit Mishra

Amit Mishra is another bowler who would look to impress the selectors with his leg spin bowling. He has been in and out of the Indian team. He is a useful spinner which can take wickets and put pressure on the batting team. In this series he would be looking to perform well and have a place in the Indian test team. He has played T-20 tournaments and bowled well. This is a perfect chance for him to grab it with both hands.
