Recently, after the conclusion of the world cup in the 50-over format, Shoaib Malik announced his ODI retirement. Malik hasn’t been in the best of forms in the lead up to the World Cup. .During the World Cup, he played only three matches, in which he scored only 8 runs and was caught twice by a duck.

However, he could well be the man for Pakistan in T20I format of the game. He got the knack of scoring runs for the team and also a useful candidate with the ball. Apart from that, he is the all-time top run-scorer for Pakistan in the T20 format of the game. Most probably, he would call curtains after that.

In 111 T20 internationals for Pakistan, Shoaib Maling bagged 2263 runs at an average above 30 and a strike rate just under 125. The stats certainly pushed PCB to go with him.
