Harbhajan Singh one of the finest spinners for India was picked for one Test match against Bangladesh. He picked 3 wickets in the first innings. He was out of the Indian team in Test team for 2 years and got a chance because of good performances in the IPL 8. As India are scheduled to play 3 Test matches against Sri Lanka and 4 Test matches against South Africa at home, it is important to give young Indian spinners a chance.

Here we look at 5 young spinners who should replace Harbhajan in the Indian Test team:

1. Axar Patel

Axar Patel has done well in the One day Internationals and in the Indian Premier League. He is very useful as a lower order batsman who can contribute occasionally. He was selected in the squad for the Test matches against Australia but did not get a chance to play. With the 3 Test matches to be played in Sri Lanka and 4 Test matches against South Africa in India it will be a great chance for the selectors to pick him and groom him as a Test player.

2. Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal is a good leg spinner. He has done well for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL. His biggest strengths is to bowl stump to stump and give no room to the batsmen which makes the job tougher. Yuzvendra Chahal can be an attacking option for Virat Kohli as he picks wickets for his team when the team requires from him. In the coming days he can selected for the Test matches against Sri Lanka. A call up to the Test squad will help him become a good bowler.

3. Sheryas Gopal

Shreyas Gopal is good all rounder who bats right handed. He plays for Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy. He made his first class debut in 2013 against Mumbai. He has been the lynchpin for Karnataka in the 2014/15 season. He picked up 28 wickets in 11 matches. He might be good option at number 6 or 7. He is also a decent batsman. With lot of Test matches to be played he can solve the problem of good all rounder.

4. Karn Sharma

Karn Sharma is another leg spinner. He made his Test debut against Australia last year and was a unforgettable debut for the leg spinner. The Indian Test team did well against Bangaldesh but the real test will begin in Sri Lanka. He must be given chances to prove his abilities against Sri Lanka. Replacing Harbhajan would be hard but given his talent it would be ideal way to groom the young spinner.

5. Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav is chinamen bowler. He played in Under 19 World Cup played in 2014. He took a hatrick in the tournament. He played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. Chinamen bowling is not an easy art and with Test matches to play in Asia, the selectors might try this option too.
