One of the leading cricketers of the world gracing all formats of the game, AB de Villiers, has been announced as Montblanc’s new brand ambassador, representing the luxury Maison in South Africa and India.
He will be the face of Montblanc across all categories including watches, writing instruments, men’s accessories and leather goods.
The currently ranked No. 1 T20 batsman and the skipper of the South African Team is widely acclaimed for his drives, pulls and cuts and his wide array of strokes.
The talented wicket-keeper batsman has not just excelled in cricket but has also proved himself in other sports such as golf, rugby and tennis.
De Villiers holds the record for the world’s fastest 50, 100 and 150 in One-Day International cricket. Also, he holds a record for scoring the fastest test century by a South African and the fastest 50 by a South African in T20 cricket too.
He also equalled Rohit Sharma’s record for most number of sixes hit in an innings with 16 of them, before being dismissed for a 44-ball 149.
He has also been one of the most sought after players in the Indian Premier League. De Villiers has had stints with Delhi and is currently a part of the Bangalore set-up. He is missing his first few matches for the IPL10 due to some injury issues.
“We are delighted to welcome AB de Villiers to the Montblanc family as our new ambassador. He is one of the most exciting athletes competing in the world today,” says Jérôme Lambert, Montblanc CEO.
“With his disruptive and instinctively innovative approach to his sport, AB de Villiers embodies the same pioneering spirit that drives Montblanc to keep pushing boundaries.”
