Adam Zampa finally made it clear against Bangladesh that why he was rated so highly by the Australian selectors. The leg-spinner dented Bangladesh’s batting effort with 3 crucial wickets on a Bangalore deck which assisted him a bit. He was named the Man of the Match and in his media interaction; he said that he was geared up to take on India and Pakistan.
“It’s going to be a new challenge playing Pakistan and India, they’re great players of spin so it’s something that I’m really looking forward to,” the leg-spinner said. “It’s been made quite clear that there’s been pressure on me to perform over here but I’m very excited about playing those types of players,” Zampa said.
Zampa once again stated that it would be a challenge bowling against Pakistan and India as their batsmen were good players of spin bowling. “They’re both going to be equally hard I think. Both have got great spin bowlers, great players of spin,” Zampa said. “It’s going to be interesting to see what the Mohali pitch is like. “We’re going to concentrate on Pakistan now.”
He also showered praises on skipper Steve Smith for backing him. “I work really well with Steven. He’s been really good for my game since I was a young guy,” Zampa said. “To have him standing there at cover all the time is really nice and I think we work together quite well. “I haven’t changed anything at all. My plans are pretty simple and to have him there in the back of my ear to reassure that is nice.”
