IPL 2016: All time IPL XI

The ninth edition of the India Premier League (IPL) is all set to start from 9th April. World’s richest league – IPL – comprises of international and Indian players. International players mostly from West Indies, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa play the tournament. This tournament has groomed Indian domestic cricket stars a lot. Players like Hardik Pandya, Pawan Negi made debut for Indian T20 team earlier this year. Now, with the ninth edition of the IPL is all set to start from Saturday so Sportzwiki has picked up an all time IPL XI.
Note: This article follows IPL rules so it takes four foreign players and seven Indian players.
Chris Gayle: This herculean West Indies opener is one of the batsmen who has changed the experience of watching cricket. Gayle’s brisk batting that bludgeon bowlers, and entertains spectators, but his batting sometimes create fear among fielders and bowlers. Gayle is the highest run scorer in IPL among the overseas player. He scored 3199 runs in 82 matches. He scored total five hundred. The highest is 175.
Robin Uthappa: The Kolkata Knight Riders opener is a consistent performer in IPL. He has played for Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai and now has been playing for Kolkata since past 2 seasons. The opening batsman is a striker who loves to time the ball and pierce the gap. He has scored 2996 runs in 112 matches with the highest score of unbeaten 82.
Micheal Hussey: The Australian southpaw was the backbone of Chennai Super Kings middle order. He was remarkably consistent. He has won many matches for CSK. In 59 matches, he has scored 1977 runs with the highest of an unbeaten 116 runs.
Rohit Sharma: The second highest run scorer of IPL is Indian opener Rohit Sharma. Rohit started his IPL career, for now, defunct Deccan Chargers. He later was bought by his home city Mumbai. He is now a captain. And he loves to lead his team from the front. He has scored 3385 runs in 128 matches with the highest score of 109*.
Suresh Raina: The most prolific batsman of IPL. Raina was an integral part of now banned Chennai Super Kings. This year he will lead Gujarat Lions. He is the highest scorer in the IPL. He ha scored 3699 runs in 132 matches with the highest of unbeaten hundred. He is a match winner.
MS Dhoni: The captain of CSK will lead Pune Super Giants this year. Dhoni is the most successful captain in IPL. He has reached the semifinal of all eight editions and reached the final of IPL six times and won the title two times. Dhoni also is a traffic batsman in this tournament. He has scored 2986 runs in 129 runs with the highest score of unbeaten 70.
DJ Bravo: Bravo is a utility player in the IPL. Bravo has taken 105 wickets in 91 matches. He started his IPL career with Mumbai Indians and later went to CSK. He has flourished as a specialist T20 cricketer there. Bravo also contributed with his bat whenever he gets the opportunity. He has scored 1163 runs with the highest score of 70.
Ravindra Jadeja: The Indian all-rounder has taken 69 wickets in 111 matches and scored 1383 runs. He was the key weapon of CSK. But this time, he will play for his hometown Rajkot.
Ravichandran Ashwin: Another CSK spinner. The premier spinner of India has taken 90 wickets in 97 matches. His deceptive spin and occasional contribution with the bat made him the right choice for this XI.
Amit Mishra: India’s most successful bowler in IPL, but highly underrated. Mishra has taken 111 wickets in 98 matches. His leg spin really handful at Indian pitches.
Lasith Malinga: The most renowned seamer in IPL. He is the highest wicket-taker of IPL with 143 wickets in 98 matches. Malinga’s slinging action and deadly yorker made him the best T20 bowler in the world.
