Amitabh Chaudhry, the joint secretary of BCCI, will call upon a meeting of the selectors to name the India A squad for a two-day practice game against Bangladesh, to be played in Secunderabad. The administrator from Jharkhand has already reached Mumbai for the selection meet to take place on Saturday.
The last meeting of the selectors to name the India squad for the limited-overs series against England was marred by controversy when an order by the Supreme Court of India restricted Chaudhry from heading the meet, thus, the BCCI CEO Rahul Johri presided over the meeting.
It has been learnt that names of Amitabh Chaudhry and Anirudh Chaudhry, the treasurer of the board, have been submitted to the Supreme Court of India as representative of the board for the ICC meeting to be held next week. Meanwhile, CK Khanna, the senior Vice-President of the board is the front-runner to be the next boss.
The one-off Test between India and Bangladesh will be played in Hyderabad from February 9. Prior to the start of the Test series, the visiting team will take on the India A squad to assimilate to the conditions.
