Arjun Tendulkar Fetches INR 5 Lakh at the Mumbai T20 League Auction
Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar on Saturday (May 4) saw intense bidding during the auction of the Mumbai T20 League 2019. However, the youngster bagged INR five Lakh – to play for the Akash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburb team.
The 19-year-old bowling all-rounder Arjun had made a rapid rise in the domestic fold. The left-arm pacer had bowled overseas in nets during his earlier days before partaking in the Mumbai’s Under-19 team.
Furthermore, Arjun has remodelled his bowling action to make it more effective. He has worked extremely hard alongside Atul Gaekwad, who is a biomechanics expert. Also, he was nursed by Subroto Banerjee, who has also worked with Vidarbha as a bowling coach in the past.
Arjun has worked hard to make a statement:
The promising pacer has also represented India U-19 in Tests against Sri Lanka. Recently, Arjun has made his name available in the auctions for the Mumbai T20 League.
Interestingly, it has kept different teams in a bidding war owing to a novelty factor of a surname – Tendulkar.
In the recent past, Arjun, who has improved leaps and bounds had partaken in Mumbai’s U-23 team. He further cherished his stint with the DY Patil T20 tournament.
Earlier, Arjun has the pressure of having a major surname. However, the budding cricketer has shown the great character by rising against the tide. Thus, it has come to him as a significant reward.
Interestingly, he has bowled mostly in England. In 2017, he bowled a remarkable toe-crushing yorker to the Three Lions’ wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow at the iconic Lord’s in 2017. In short, Arjun left Bairstow left astonished with his sheer pace.
Born on September 24 in 1999, Arjun has shown keen interest at the tender age, to knit his cricketing dream.
In the past, Sachin urged his son to give his best.
Arjun, too believes there are short cuts to rule the roost. He is keen to give his best in the domestic fold after making an appearance in the senior fold.
