Ashish Reddy of Hyderabad recorded a hat-trick in the ongoing Inter Zonal T20 League for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In a must win match for Hyderabad, Ashish Reddy too hat trick in the first over of the match itself against Goa. His hat-trick came off last 3 deliveries of first over of Goa’s innings.

Hyderabad needed to win by good margin to get themselves into Super league of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. They put Goa into bat after winning the toss. Ashish Reddy opened the bowling and was been smashed for Sagun Kamat but Reddy came back to get rid of him. The next ball, he cleaned up Amogh Desai for a duck. Later, he finished the over and completing the Hat-trick when Rajat Shet chipped straight to Benjamin.

It was the 66th hat-trick recorded in the Twenty20 format and 3rd in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Earlier two hat-trick in history of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy were on the name of S Narwal of Delhi and MS Gony of Punjab in 2009-10 season.

Ashish Reddy ended up figures of 4-0-13-3 which had 18 dot balls. Goa ended up with a score of 118 for 9 thanks to a fightback knock off 67 from Darshan Misal.

Interesting moment in the innings was left arm seamer, CV Milind almost took a hat-trick in the last over of the Goa’s batting innings. Goa lost its 7th wicket on 3rd ball of last over in form Deepak Gaonkar who got run out. Milind followed it sending back Amit Yadav and cleaned up Kevin Dcosta for a duck completing team’s hat-trick. However, Gauresh got single on final ball of innings who avoided Milind getting a hat-trick.
