After the end of all the Test matches of 2020, International Cricket Council (ICC) has updated the Test rankings on Thursday. Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah are the two Indians who have gained points to progress within the top 10.
The two prominent Indian bowlers have advanced after Team India’s victory in the second Test against Australia in MCG. The veteran off-spinner Ashwin played a huge role in that victory, picking five wickets while made Steve Smith his bunny.
On the other hand, with the absence of his bowling partner Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah took the responsibility. He went on to notch six wickets in the second Test to guide India to eight wickets victory.
Mitchell Starc, who also featured in that second Test, has also advanced to two points but his teammate Josh Hazlewood has lost points to come down to number the eighth position.
Jasprit Bumrah overtakes James Anderson:
Apart from them, James Anderson, who has not played a Test match since August, has gone down to number 10th position as Bumrah has surpassed him.
There is no change in the top three in ICC Test Bowling Rankings. Australia’s premier bowler Pat Cummins is at the top followed by England’s speedster Stuart Broad, who this year completed 500 Test wickets to enter the elite list, comprising of his teammate Anderson.
New Zealander Neil Wagner is standing at the third position. The pacer showcased what is the passion when you are representing your country. In the first Test against Pakistan, he bowled regularly albeit having injured his leg. He picked up four wickets to set the example for coming youngsters.
